Sustainability: Issues, Assessment, and Ranking of Nations, a lecture by Dr. Yiannis Phillis

Dr. Yiannis Phills will speak on how sustainability, as a guiding concept of human activities, is discussed nowadays regularly by politicians, environmentalists, biologists, sociologists, economists, philosophers and ordinary citizens. While most people would like to promote sustainability, there are frequent disagreements about what sustainable development is and how it can be best achieved. In his lecture he will provide a definition of sustainability and describe a model that can be used to assess it, using a so-called fuzzy logic approach.
