Council on the Environment, NYC (CENYC)

M'Lis Bartlett worked with CENYC staff to design and construction rainwater harvesting units in NYC community gardens. 2009 internship

M'Lis split her internship duties between the Rainwater Harvesting Project and the Learn It, Grow It, Eat It youth program teaching basic construction skills building and arbor she designed for one of the gardens.  Additionally she facilitated a short design workshop with the teenagers in which the students were asked how they would re-design their garden.  M'Lis incorporated these ideas into a plan for a new shade structure.  She drew up plans for this structure that will be used in future fundraising efforts.  On rainy days she wrote fundraising letters and helped strategize the growth of the youth program.
