National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

This summer, Danielle Forsyth worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Michigan Department of Natural Resources to develop a GIS-based decision support tool. She obtained, manipulated, and documented data layers for use in the Great Lakes Wind Farm Siting Tool, which will be used to site wind energy projects in the Great Lakes region.  She had the opportunity to attend the Coastal Zone 2011 conference, and network with GIS and environmental professionals, and also greatly improved analytical, problem solving, and technical skills.
