NOAA-GLERL

As a Summer Fellow at GLERL Julie Mida worked closely with a lead researcher on a project to gather field data on the coastal transport patterns of the Grand River plume as it enters Lake Michigan.

Her main duties involved learning MATLAB and using this program to analyze data and create contour plots of spatial data.  Julie also assisted in the field during data collection.   She learned analytical and technical skills, gained experience and understanding of field work and of the scientific process, and was able to network with peers and other scientists at the lab to learn about opportunities in the field.
