University of Michigan Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling
Elizabeth Fox gathered waste and recycle generation data from top performing facilities at the University of Michigan. Through the Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling, facilities managers were interviewed in order to determine reasons for recycling success at top performing facilities. Elizabeth also created surveys for custodians and building staff, users, and occupants in order to better understand individual recycling knowledge and practices. After analyzing this information, Elizabeth created a Recycling Best Practices Report that discusses practices at high rate facilities and how these practices can be used to improve recycling rates at facilities across the university to be used by facilities managers and building users.
