Organizations must be in a start-up phase. To be considered a start-up, the applicant may have been running the organization full-time for approximately two years and Echoing Green's financial support should qualify it as a major/primary early funder. Applicants must make a full-time commitment to the organization's development. A full-time commitment is defined as a minimum of 35 hours per week; it is expected that the fellow would resign from their current employment to dedicate themselves full-time to their initiative. Applicants must commit to attending Echoing Green's training conferences, if selected as fellows. All new fellows attend a conference in July the year they are selected, as well as a November conference that year and for the next three years. |

All Grants must be used in connection with initiating and making significant progress towards completing the Eco-Program as set forth in its proposal. Student Grant recipients may be required to provide written or oral status reports, including budget reports and receipts to Program Sponsor to evidence appropriate use of the Grant. Student Grant recipients may additionally be asked to capture and document their work once monthly using video and or camera images and to provide these images to the Program Sponsor and/or Program Administrator upon request. Failure of any Student Grant recipient to provide Program Sponsor and/or Program Administrator with Eco-Program status updates as requested may result in suspension or termination of Grant disbursements, in Program Sponsor’s sole discretion. |

Fellows will not be able to hold two fellowships simultaneously if the Awards Terms & Conditions are contradictory. In addition, fellows may not receive more than a combined total of $30,000 throughout the tenure of the award (one academic year). |

Each fellow receives one round-trip air ticket from the city of origin to the primary research site in India. AIIS will also provide air tickets for 1.5 dependents accompanying a Long-term Fellow who is eligible for dependent allowances for 2 dependents. Short-term Fellows are not provided tickets or allowance for dependents. AIIS Fellows may not hold another major grant during the fellowship period. |

Applicants may propose comparative work considering more than one country of Eastern Europe or relating East European societies of those of other parts of the world. |
