Moody Fellowship Airfare, stipend, immunizations

The Moody Fellowship provides round-trip airfare from Detroit to the city of placement in South Africa and a modest monthly stipend for up to three months.

Pre- and Post-doctoral Fellowships Predoctoral Fellows: stipend of $30,000/year + maximum research allowance of $4,000; Graduate Student Fellowships: $6,500 stipend for ten weeks

The Office of Fellowships cannot provide funds for the travel or living expenses of dependents.

Gloria Barron Scholarship $10,000

The recipient may be liable for income tax on the scholarship. Please consult with your tax advisor on the proper treatment of the award.

Kenneth E. Grant Research Scholarship $1,000

The recipient of the 2010 grant will complete the investigation and submit a progress report by January 2011, with a final report submitted to SWCS by June 2011.

Hudson River Graduate Fellowships Stipend up to $15,000 (PhD); up to $11,000 (MS)

The student's home university will be expected to be the primary source of support for materials and expenses required to do the thesis research, and will also be expected to cover any indirect costs associated with the project. The award is conditional upon a full tuition waiver or reimbursement by the University.

The Foundation will not accept applications for extensions of existing fellowships.

Desert Studies Award $4,000

The successful applicant must submit a written report of project results at the completion of the project to both The Garden Club of America and the Desert Botanical Garden.

Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship Program up to $40,000

This funding is to help cover tuition costs first then room and board, books, laboratory fees and one round- trip ticket per academic year between the Fellow’s residence and the academic institution, pending availability of funds.

This is not a travel grant.

Graduate Student Research Minigrant Program $2,000

Travel expenses may not include airfare. Awardees are expected to be in residence for some part of their research at the Station so they can interact with other researchers and students.

Graduate Student Travel Fellowship up to $2,000

Travel to field research sites and living expenses while doing field research.

 Awards are made payable to the individual recipients.  No part of an award may be used for the payment of indirect costs to the recipient's institutions

Students may apply to only one award program (travel-FGST or research-GIAR) per year.

Ta Liang Memorial Award $1,500

Travel--including field investigations, agency visits, participation in conferences, or any travel that enhances or facilitates a graduate research program.

TSC encourages applicants to seek other sources of funding to share project costs. A small portion of the grant may be reserved until TSC receives the final report.

Native American Congressional Internships $1,200 educational stipend, plus travel reimbursement, housing, and a daily allowance

Udall Foundation provides housing for interns, roundtrip airfare to Washington DC, a daily allowance for meals, transportation, and incidentals, and a $1,200 educational stipend upon completion.

We accept grant proposals only for charitable, educational, or scientific purposes, primarily from tax-exempt, charitable organizations. We do not provide funding for projects that benefit specific individuals or that serve religious purposes.

CGI U Outstanding Commitment Awards up to $10,000

We don't fund: dissertations, internships, staff salaries, personal stipends, or research without a tangible action component. In most cases, we’re also unlikely to cover travel or large organizational capacity-building grants.

If you are a recipient of a CGI U Outstanding Commitment Award, you will need a 501c3 fiscal sponsor who can process your grant. This fiscal sponsor can be an academic department, a center on campus, or a non-profit in your local community. If you are an international applicant, you will also be required to identify a fiscal sponsor which is a tax-exempt organization similar to a 501c3 in the US.

Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund does not fund:

  • Projects, services and organizations outside a 50 mile/80 kilometer radius of a Weyerhaeuser community

With limited federal funds available for projects in the field, the Center is encouraging the use of indirect costs as part of the one-to-one nonfederal match requirement and to keep Forest Service funds used for indirect costs to a minimum.

e8 Masters Scholarship Program in Sustainable Energy Development up to $23,000 for two years

You are expected to complete your degree or your research, update e8 about your progress and publish your results. You are required to acknowledge the e8 support when publishing or making presentations on your research and results.

GeoEye Award Satellite imagery data valued up to $20,000 and a certificate
  • Recipient must abide by the conditions set forth in GeoEye’s “End-user License Agreement”.  The recipient will also prepare a written report of the results of the project and submit it to ASPRS and to GeoEye for possible company use. The report is due within one year of receipt of data.
  • The recipient (or his/her representative) must attend presentation ceremony during the annual meeting to receive the award certificate.
