- Process and rationale of planning and design recommendations.
- Inclusion of specified required elements, such as a boat launch to DNR specifications

- Results of consultation and interface with supporting and/or funding organizations such as, the Little Traverse Conservancy, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, Audubon Society, MNRTF, DNR, regional recreation planners or authorities, regional assessment of public and semipublic lands.
Team members will have opportunity to meet and work with conservation and land preservation groups, consult with the Department of Natural Resources, Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board, assist local government entities, collaborate with county and local land use planners, develop grant writing knowledge and skills, conduct public meetings and workshops, prepare a report and presentation of project findings and results.
We are exploring avenues for funds to help with travel, lodging and publishing costs.
Hayes Township will consider multiple student approaches, which could emanate from various fields of study to support the creation of a master park plan report. By way of examples, the final conceptual plan may reflect and incorporate such types of research and analysis as:
- Inventory, analysis and synthesis of natural and cultural data
- Resource supply and demand based conceptual planning study
- Policy analysis and feasibility study of a potential regional parks authority;
- A study of ecotourism and the relationship between natural resource management and the economy in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties.
