The Gloria Barron Wilderness Society Scholarship was created in honor of Gloria Barron, a dedicated educator and tireless advocate for wilderness protection, and is administered by The Wilderness Society, a leading conservation organization based in Washington, D.C. The scholarship amount varies from year to year. Historically, The Wilderness Society has awarded $10,000 to graduate students to support their research and preparation of a paper on an aspect of wilderness.

Greenleaf Scholars Program (GSP): https://www.greenleaf.org/research-scholars/. Applications are due March 13, 2013.

The GSP provides a $2,500 research award for early career scholars to support empirical work on servant leadership. The program is sponsored by the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, and is administered through the National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good at the University of Michigan.

Established in 2001, the lecture series is named to honor Peter M. Wege, the retired vice-chairman of the board of Steelcase, Inc., in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Carrico to discuss Nashville Yard Project at research talk

Amanda Carrico is a research assistant professor at the Vanderbilt Institute for Energy & Environment at Vanderbilt University. She also is a faculty fellow in the Climate Change Research Network at Vanderbilt, where she was a postdoctoral fellow from 2009-2012. She earned a doctoral degree in Social Psychology (2009) from Vanderbilt University; a master of arts in social psychology (2005) from Vanderbilt and a bachelor of arts (2002) from Transylvania University.

The Robin Wright Graduate Fellowship provides up to $4,000 to support research by a graduate student from the Islamic World or Africa enrolled in the Rackham Graduate School.

Preference will be given to graduate students pursuing research in international and global issues in the contemporary period, with a focus on political, economic or societal change as well as new solutions to issues arising from the spread of globalization. Particular attention will be given to research abroad.

The Menakka and Essel Bailey Graduate Fellowship offers multiple grants up to $6,500 each for graduate students who are U.S. citizens pursuing research, field work, cultural experience, or other study relevant to their graduate degree, preferably in the areas of public health, health care, or environmental work in South or Southeast Asia (excluding China or Japan). Preference given to students seeking funds in addition to this source.
