How to apply to the ESS dual-degree program
There are three tracks (specializations) in the Engineering Sustainable Systems dual-master's program: Sustainable Energy Systems, Sustainable Design and Manufacturing and Sustainable Water Resources. Through the ESS degree, students integrate the 30-credit M.S.E (master of science in engineering) program with the 42-credit M.S. (master of science) program (which separately total 72 credits) into a 54-credit program. The program takes between two and two-and-a-half years to complete. Students must meet all the basic requirements of each program (see below).
School of Natural Resources and Environment requirements:
- At least 25 NRE credits
- Fulfill field of study core and the NRE core course requirements
- Two analytics courses (one may need to be statistics)
- Integrative master's opus

If you are enrolled in one of these programs already, you must complete the "Readmission, Dual Degree, Change of Field Information and Application" form and submit it with the other application documents. Before graduation, "Form 6010 - Dual Degree Course Elections" must be completed to verify completion of requirements and minimum hours.
