Ecosystem Management in the ClassroomCourse offerings at the School of Natural Resources and Environment range from aquatic ecosystems to landscape ecology to resource policy and management. An area of growing interest for students and practioners alike is the field of conservation biology and its implications for ecosystem management. One course focusses specifically on these issues: Conservation of Biological Diversity. For the final project, past students in this course selected an EM case and evaluated it using Edward Grumbine's 10 principles of Ecosystem Management [Grumbine, R. Edward. 1994. "What is Ecosystem Management?" Conservation Biology. 8(1):2738.] Several reports are available in a PowerPoint format:
Please note that these presentations are independently researched projects of SNRE students. EMI does not take responsibility for the accuracy of the presentations. The projects are posted on the website to demonstrate the range of EM projects in progress throughout the United States today.
