Speaker Biography: Stephen Blackmer

Stephen Blackmer, M.F., is the President of the Northern Forest Center. He has worked in the forests and communities of northern New England and New York for over 20 years. Steve founded the Northern Forest Center in 1996 to fill the need for an organization dedicated to raising awareness of the rich historical and community resources of the region. Prior to founding the Center, Steve founded the Northern Forest Alliance, directed Northern Forest, conservation, research, trails and education programs for the Appalachian Mountain Club, and served as Vice President for policy of the Society for Protection of NH Forests.
