Speaker Biography: Brock EvansAfter graduating from University of Michigan Law School, Brock Evans began a 40 year career in the environmental movement. He was the Northwest representative of the Sierra Club from 1967 to 1973, until he moved to Washington, D.C. to head the Club's lobbying office, a position he held until 1981. Brock then worked for 15 years with the National Audubon Society, where he served as lobbying director and vice president for national issues.
Since 1996, he has represented a number
of private groups as an environmental strategist and consultant, and now
directs the Endangered Species Coalition, a group of 440 organizations
working to protect and strengthen the Endangered Species Act. Evans has
testified over 100 times before various U.S. Congressional Committees
and has received numerous awards, including the Sierra Club's highest
honor, the John Muir Award, as well as distinguished service awards from
the League of Conservation Voters, National Audubon Society and Idaho
Conservation League.
