Public Lecture & Digital Exhibit by John Orrock
‘How spatial variation in consumer pressure aects invasion, restoration, and conservation of plant communities’
John Orrock received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 2004, and is currently an
Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Orrock’s research focuses on
spatial ecology of conservation, restoration and biological invasion and his lab takes
several complementary approaches: how individual behavior generates spatial variation;
development of novel theories to understand the consequences of spatial dynamics; and
employment of large-scale manipulative eld experiments to test model predictions.
Student session Q&A follows Dr. Orrock’s lecture
