Faculty
Our faculty of 50 professors has been trained in 18 different disciplines. At Michigan, these environmental experts come together to provide a comprehensive curriculum covering nine areas of study: aquatic sciences; behavior, education and communication; conservation biology; environmental informatics; environmental justice; environmental policy and planning; landscape architecture; sustainable systems; and terrestrial ecosystems. SNRE benefits from the knowledge and passion of more than a dozen faculty affiliates who teach specialized classes, mentor students, conduct sponsored research, and contributing to a variety of academic pursuits . These faculty affiliates include adjunct faculty members who are primarily employed outside the university but are an integral part of our academic mission, jointly appointed faculty members from other schools and colleges within the University, and retired faculty members (emeritus faculty) who continue to mentor students and conduct research at SNRE. Research
Natural Resources and Environment is the hub for environmental research and education at the University of Michigan, one of the greatest research universities in the world.
