Hoffman participates in climate summit in Ireland

Andy Hoffman, an SNRE professor in its Sustainable Systems field of study, was interviewed by the Irish Times newspaper as part of its ongoing coverage of a recent climate summit in Ireland.

Hoffman, who also is a professor in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and serves as director of the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, was among 60 participants from more than 10 countries who participated in what was called a “Climate Gathering.” During the trip, he and was able to meet Michael D. Higgins, the President of Ireland (pictured above).

“I came in thinking about this as a social movement, like civil rights,” Hoffman told The Times. “Now I’m thinking of it more as an enlightenment . . . a multi-faceted movement”.
