GLISA hosts Oct. 30 symposium on Great Lakes, climate
Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments is hosting a fall symposium Oct. 30. The Symposium will be in the Rackham Amphitheater on the fourth floor of the Rackham Building, 915 E. Washington St., Ann Arbor.
From 1:30-2:45 p.m., there will be an overview of GLISA and its funded research projects. At 3 p.m., authors from the National Climate Assessment Midwest Technical Input Team will summarize climate trends and anticipated impacts of climate change in the Great Lakes region.
The symposium features:
- An overview of GLISA's funded research projects
- A panel discussion with the National Climate Assessment Midwest Technical Input Team
- A summary of the climate trends and anticipated impacts of climate change in the Great Lakes region
A reception follow the symposium at 4:30 p.m. This is a free event but registration is required. The registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 29.
ABOUT GLISA:
The Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments Center (GLISA) is a collaboration of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, with the participation of Ohio State University and Michigan Sea Grant. Its Core Management Team is comprised of leading climatologists, social scientists, and outreach specialists. Funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with additional support from U of M and MSU, GLISA is part of a national network of regional centers focused on adaptation to climate change and variability.
