I was part of a 4 person team in the Sustainable Development Program Area that managed 30+ environmental projects through which UNDP collaborates with the federal and local governments, NGOs and private stakeholders to reinforce institutional and local capacities on sustainable development issues in the country. As program assistant I supported project management, was in charge of project closure, expanded visibility of UNDP-Mexico's work on sustainability and the environment by preparing speeches and policy briefs for the UN Resident Representative and the Sustainable Development Program Director; updated project information in the organization's webpage; and developed a LEED-based Green Building and Office Sustainability Strategy for the new United Nations building in Mexico.

How did you get this job Learned about the position through UNDP-Mexico's website (undp.org.mx), applied on-line, was interviewed and offered the position.
Research My master's thesis on "Fishers Perceptions on the Implementation of No-Take Zones in the Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico," continues to delve into the challenges of balancing social well-being with environmental management and sustainability, in a multi-stakeholder environment.
