The SNRE Resume Book will be:

  • Sent to over 2,000 employers on our eRecruiter system
  • Given to those employers coming to the SNRE Career Fair in January
  • Will be used as a tool to help SNRE Career Services Staff market our students to employers

The resume book is vitally important to be a part of if you are looking for a spring/summer internship or a full time position at the end of December 2009 or May 2010.  We’ve even heard reports back from students who secured internship opportunities from employers who saw their resume in the SNRE Resume Book!

Resume Book Guidelines:

  • The SNRE Resume Book Deadline is Thursday, November 5th at midnight.  Absolutely no resumes will be accepted after midnight – no exceptions.
  • Resumes must be one page

**Resumes longer than one page will not be included in the resume book.  Double check the PDF file of your resume on eRecruiter to make certain that it is only one page long.
** Exception: PhD students uploading a CV. A multiple page CV is allowed for PhD students.

  • Cover Letters and Reference pages will NOT be included in the resume book.
  • If you have multiple resumes on the eRecruiter system, make certain that your one page resume is set as your default resume (it will be in bold text).
  • We separate the resume books into sections by field of study.  Please make certain that your field of study is correct on the eRecruiter system.  You can check your field of study selection in your Profile>Academic Information tab.
  • In addition, we include additional languages in the table of contents to make it easier for employers to find students with additional language skills, we pull this information from your eRecruiter Profile>Academic Information tab so please be sure to add any additional languages there.
  • Please note that we have 3 separate resume books: MS, MLA, and a PhD Resume Book. If you are an MLA student and would like to upload a work sample (2 page maximum) for inclusion in the resume book or a PhD student and would like to upload your dissertation summary/abstract (1 page maximum) for inclusion in the resume book, the eRecruiter system does have this feature available under the Documents tab (you can upload a PDF or Word file). Contact kleclair@umich.edu if you have any questions about using this feature. If you do upload a work sample or dissertation summary/abstract and would like it included in the resume book, please email kleclair@umich.edu with your name and the name of the file that you would like included.

How to upload your resume into the SNRE Resume Book:
a) Go to https://snreumich-csm.symplicity.com/. Your username is your full UMich email address. If you forgot your password, click on "Forgot Password" and one will be emailed to you.
b) Click on the "Profile" tab - then click on "Privacy" - select "Yes - Include in Resume Books" - then click on "Save Changes". This will allow your resume to be visible to employers on the system and included in resume books.
c) Upload your resume: Click on the Documents Tab>Click on Add New>then upload your resume. Please note that it takes SNRE Career Services Staff 1-2 business days to review and approve your resume before it is live on the eRecruiter system—so make sure to submit your resume well in advance of the submission deadline.
d) IMPORTANT: Make sure that your Profile>Academic Information is correct – this information is used in the creation of the resume book

I already have a resume on the system, but want to upload a more current version?
a) (KEEP YOUR ORIGINAL RESUME ON THE SYSTEM BEFORE UPLOADING THE NEW ONE) Upload your new resume - you will not need approval since SNRE Career Services Staff has already approved your original resume.
b) Select your new resume as your default resume - select "Make Default" on the resume that you would like to make visible to employers and included in SNRE resume books.
c) Delete your old resume or keep it on the system (you can store multiple resumes on the system)
