Sounds Conservancy Grants Program
All university, college, and high school students, private individuals, and nonprofit organizations whose projects are within the region described above are eligible.
The Sounds Conservancy is a marine research and education program designed to protect the estuaries and coastal waters of the Sounds of southern New England. The Sounds Conservancy Grants Program is dedicated to supporting the conservation and restoration of the sounds of Long Island, Fishers Island, Block Island, Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket and their adjacent coastlines in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island. Through the use of a small grants program, the Sounds Conservancy working within QLF, seeks to secure the protection of its region’s marine resources through the support of projects focused on marine education, research, advocacy, and conservation.
To apply, submit only the following:

application form (type or print neatly and detach, copies accepted);

one-page project summary (no more than 400 words) which should include the project’s objective, problem description, and strategy as well as who stands to benefit and how the results will be shared;

one-page income and expense budget;

one-page resume of the applicant.
TSC encourages applicants to seek other sources of funding to share project costs. A small portion of the grant may be reserved until TSC receives the final report.
Research must be within region stated above.
In addition to a final report and an expense budget, we ask recipients to submit a one-page, non-technical project summary that we will include in our annual compilation of project results.
