The Greening of Detroit
Faií¢â‚¬â„¢s primary project was to create a site plan for the Greeningí¢â‚¬â„¢s Meyer Nursery, featuring a native tree nursery, community garden and an environmental interpretive center that highlights the natural features of the site. Tasks involved:
í¢â‚¬ ¢ Creating a site inventory of existing natural, historical, and cultural features, on site and surrounding, through GIS analysis and historical research
í¢â‚¬ ¢ Creating a site analysis to identify key areas for visitor use, including educational trails, picnic areas, outdoor classrooms and natural areas for preservation.
í¢â‚¬ ¢ Producing a digitized site plan and additional technical and conceptual drawings
In addition, Fai was able to work in the their green jobs training program and led training sessions with 50 total trainees on the subject of landscape plan reading and basic geometry.
