Applicant Eligibility Comments: 

The DOE CSGF is open to U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens who are planning full-time, uninterrupted study toward a Ph.D. at an accredited U.S. university.  Senior undergraduate and first and second year graduate students in engineering and in the physical, computer, mathematical or life sciences are eligible to apply for the program. Fellowship support is limited to four years and must be renewed each year.

Funding Abstract: 

The Dept. of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowships (DoE CSGF) program provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields of study that use high performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems.  DoE CSGF Fellows use high performance computing to better understand fundamental properties of the world and universe around us, and to solve complex problems in areas of national importance, such as climate change and sustainable energy sources.

Application requirements:

  • Online application: The online application is comprised of 16 individual sections. 
  • Transcripts: Official transcripst from each university or college you have attended, including your current fall transcript. 
  • GRE scores
  • PRA: If you are a Permanent Resident Alien (PRA), you must send a copy of the front and back of your PRA card to the Krell Institute
  • References: We recommend that you use the link within our online system to notify references of your request for letters. 
  • Program of Study: Generate your Program of Study (POS) with your graduate advisor's assistance.
