NRE 677 section 086
Applied Environmental Economincs
Prof. Michael Moore
Friday 1-3PM
This course is a research seminar in applied environmental economics. Its general objective is to assist students in their development as researchers in the field of environmental economics. The seminar, consequently, is geared primarily to individuals who are undertaking research for a doctoral dissertation or masterí¢â‚¬â„¢s thesis. We will discuss 1-2 research papers per week. The papers will serve to expand our knowledge base of empirical methods applied in environmental economics. We will also use the papers as a basis to consider several aspects of the research process, including: identifying topics; developing a research design; and collecting data. Course requirements for 1 Credit Hour include the following: (1) active participation each week; and (2) presentation of a research paper to the seminar. Students may enroll for 2 Credit Hours, which would require development of a research proposal in addition to requirements (1) and (2) above.
