President Coleman highlights SNRE in sustainability address

President Mary Sue Coleman higlighted several programs of the School of Natural Resources and Environment in her address yesterday unveiling the progress and new goals behind the university's sustainability initiatives.

In her remarks about the impact of sustainability in the classroom, she mentioned the dual-degree master's program in environmental science and engineering launched in 2009 by SNRE and the College of Engineering. "Together, the College of Engineering and School of Natural Resources and Environment educate engineers and scientists to make sustainability central in their professional work," President Coleman said.

She also highlighted the dual degree between SNRE and the Ross School of Business, and the role of the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise in managing it.

She also drew attention to the Gold LEED rating for the Dana Building, which remains the "greenest" building on campus.
