CAFE presents Second Annual Sustainable Food Careers Symposium Feb. 15

CAFE is hosting a Sustainable Food Careers Symposium Friday, Feb. 15, Room 1040 of the Dana Building. The symposium brings graduate and undergraduate students together with professionals in food careers related to sustainability and the environment. Organizers' goal is to expose students to the wide range of career opportunities in this field. The event will feature panel discussions focused on:

The Consortium on Agriculture, Food, and the Environment (CAFE) is a U-M student group that convenes students interested in sustainable food systems to collaborate on academic, professional and social events designed to catalyze and enrich student advancement while raising the field's profile on campus. CAFE conceives of the field broadly, to include issues of social, environmental and economic sustainability at each stage of the contemporary food system: production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste management. This scope accommodates students with a wide range of interests, from environmental impact of food production to food access issues.
