In the news: Hoffman in Forbes on climate 'culture wars'
Forbes contributor John McQuaid in an Aug. 21 post revisits an article by SNRE Professor Andrew Hoffman on culture wars and climate, which first appeared in the fall issue of the Stanford Social Innovation Review.
In the SSIR article, Hoffman, who has a dual appointment with the Ross School of business and serves as director of the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise, argues that climate change has enmesshed in the so-called culture wars. "Acceptance of the scientific consensus is now seen as an alignment with liberal views consistent with other “cultural” issues that divide the country (abortion, gun control, health care, and evolution)," Hoffman wrote, which McQuaid restates in hs colum titled, "How Climate Change Got Caught in the Culture Wars."
