Reception for the Envoys Fellows!
SNRE Envoys is a cross-disciplinary group of Masters Students working to promote and strengthen diversity within the student population of the school. Our group is focused on improving our recruiting strategy for under-represented groups in the school. This can include everything from ethnic to geographic to socio-economic to ideological diversity and much more. We are also looking to strengthen SNRE by having events that celebrate diversity and involve the whole SNREd community in the ongoing discussion about this important topic. Last year we started the program with 10 new Masters Students and got our feet wet in the world of recruiting. We recently added 10 new members this year and everyone is very excited about continuing on our mission. Fortunately we have some help as we now have excellent faculty support from long-time diversity champions, Professors Dorceta Taylor and Ivette Perfecto.
We are having an event this Monday, October 1 starting at 5:30 in the Dana Commons to officially introduce the Envoys group to SNRE as well as welcome the new First year Envoys to the school. Because diversity is all about inclusiveness we would love nothing more than for every SNREd out there to attend and come talk about diversity. And to entice you a little bit more, we promise some delicious food. See you on Monday!
