Each year, the Graduate Fellowship Program awards PhD fellowships to students who are interested in careers related to:
  1. Population dynamics of living marine resources and the development and implementation of quantitative methods for assessing their status, and
  2. Economics of the conservation and management of living marine resources.
Fellows will work on thesis problems of public interest and relevance to the National Marine Fisheries Service under the guidance of NMFS mentors at participating NMFS Science Centers or Laboratories.

WHAT: The fellowships provide support for highly qualified graduate students working toward a Ph.D. in one of several fields.

WHEN: The fellowships begin June 1, 2013, and will be awarded for up to two years. Funding for the second year of the fellowship is contingent.

DEADLINE: 4 PM January 25, 2013
