Landscape Planning and Analysis
Description:
The general goals of this course are: to acquaint students with the important issues, problems, and approaches of landscape planning; to create an awareness and understanding that site planning and land planning are part of a continuum and are inseparable from each other within the design process; to provide an awareness and understanding of how spatial information can be collected, analyzed, then combined to generate maps (by the use of a Geographic Information System, GIS) that allow one to investigate land planning alternatives; and to create an awareness and applied understanding of various landscape planning methods.
