Student Recognition Award in Insect Physiology, Biochemistry, Toxicology, and Molecular Biology
The applicant must be a student and an active, current ESA member. He/she must have demonstrated excellence to the advancement of basic or applied entomological research on the undergraduate or graduate level. An individual may receive this award only once.
This Entomological Foundation award recognizes and encourages innovative research in the areas of insect physiology, biochemistry, toxicology, and molecular biology in the broad sense. The areas of research may include: development, genetics, defense mechanisms, and other offshoots of physiology; biochemistry; and toxicology. The award consists of an amount that varies depending on the interest earned from the endowment and a certificate of recognition. The recipient will be presented with the award at the ESA Annual Meeting.
Submit nomination package online. Font size may be no smaller than 10 pt; .pdf, .rtf, .tif, and .jpg are only acceptable file formats; package may contain no more than 6 separate files and each file must not exceed 3 MB. Nomination package includes:
- CV
- Brief (2 pg max) summary of the student's research, including questions, rationale, methods, results, and specific end-user benefits
- 1 pg statement of student's short-term and long-term career goals
- Official college transcripts
- Up to 3 letters of recommendation
