The 13th Annual University of Michigan Energy Fest 2008 will showcase the University's efforts and commitment to energy conservation, energy efficiency, and alternative energy technologies. University and other affiliated organizations will be available with information and displays that identify opportunities to conserve energy and contribute to a sustainable society. The event is free and open to the public. Energy Fest will also be held on the North Campus Portico Plaza on Thursday, September 11, from 11am to 2pm.

Obama campaign energy policy expert to deliver Carbon Symposium keynote
The Ross Energy Club’s 1st Annual Carbon Symposium will provide educational and professional insights into the emerging importance of carbon in our economy. Graduate students in business, environmental science, public policy, economics and other disciplines will come together to learn from and interact with some of the pioneers of the burgeoning carbon economy.
Delivering the keynote address will be Howard A. Learner, a senior energy and environmental adviser for the Obama campaign.
"Hope for a Heated Planet: Energy, Health, & Organizing for Change," presented by Dr. Robert Musil
Robert Musil, Ph.D., M.P.H. presents the lecture "Hope for a Heated Planet: Energy, Health, & Organizing for Change." Musil is the former Executive Director of Physicians for Social Responsibility and author of Hope for a Heated Planet (Rutgers University Press, forthcoming).
Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Speaker Series: Assistant Professor Catherine Badgley
