*Any waiver or substitution of degree requirement must be approved both by the Graduate Advisor and EI Field of Study Coordinator and submitted to OAP. If a student has prior course work at the equivalent level of more than one of the selections in the IE core, s/he may petition the faculty advisor and EI Field of Study Coordinator to substitute EI approved electives for some EI core credits.

**To count toward the EI Plan-specific elective requirement, NRE639 topic must be approved by the EI Field of Study Coordinator.

***Additional courses will be approved by the graduate advisor and EI Field of Study Coordinator. Acceptable courses are numerous, including many from other Fields of Study in NRE and outside NRE.
