Event Date:
Friday, October 4, 2013 - 4:00pm to 11:00pm
Location:
Saginaw Forest, Ann Arbor

The leaves are beginning to change, the days are growing shorter, and fall is just around the corner.  As the fall days settle in, SNRE welcomes one of the most time-honored traditions of the school – the Annual SNRE Campfire!  Please join the SNRE community for the 2013 Annual SNRE Campfire! The campfire traces its roots to the school’s early “field days” in 1906. This gathering for students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families features great food, music, non-spiritous beverages and competitive fun!

Location: The event is at Saginaw Forest. If you are driving to the campfire, please plan to park at Pall Life Sciences, which is located at 600 S. Wagner Road.  There will not be any parking at Saginaw Forest.  Please be prepared to walk into Saginaw Forest (bring headlamps, flashlights, etc. for walking back to your car following the event).

Food:
Dinner will be provided, but because we're SNREds and incredibly conscious of waste, flatware and silverware will NOT be provided - so bring a plate and fork! And because we want you to make us dessert, we'll be doing a dessert potluck, so bring something delicious that we can all eat. Food will be served at 5:00 PM and while we are planning on cooking up a bunch, it will be first come first serve.

Fun:
While food is undoubtedly exciting, it won't be the only thing going on at the campfire. Planned events include wader races, a log sawing competition and pumpkin carving for the kids...and lets be honest...adults too. We strongly hope that you will bring footballs, baseballs, frisbees, soccer balls, medicine balls, or any other sports equipment you would like to get your game on! Please also bring any musical instruments!

Remember to arrive early! A complete list of things to bring is included here:

  • Your own plates, cups, and utensils (these will not be provided, so don't forget!)
  • A dessert to share with the group
  • A flashlight or better yet, rock the headlamp! (it will be dark by 7:30p)
  • Bug spray (it is outside, after all!)
  • Warm/weather appropriate clothing and/or a blanket (and maybe a change of dry clothes/towel, particularly if you are participating in the wader races)

If you have any questions, please contact your nearest student government representative (throw a rock in Dana, you'll hit at least one), or send us an email at snrestudgov@gmail.com.

SNREd On!
