Invitation to Present at Research Symposium, í¢â‚¬Å“Michigan Graduate Students in the Worldí¢â‚¬
All graduate students are invited to present their research (or research in progress) at the 2012 Centennial Symposium, í¢â‚¬Å“Michigan Graduate Students in the World.í¢â‚¬ We invite submissions from all Rackham masterí¢â‚¬â„¢s and PhD students, and will select abstracts that represent the breadth and diversity of Michiganí¢â‚¬â„¢s graduate programs. Posters and presentations should focus on studentsí¢â‚¬â„¢ research and creative ideas that engage critical problems in every field of advanced study, and be accessible to non-specialists from the University community.
Benefits of Participation:
- Provides a forum to present current or on-going research to peers, faculty, and the public
- Symposiums are a great way to build your academic resume and CV
- Participants will have poster creation costs paid for in full
- Symposium will be attended by representatives from prestigious research funding organizations, giving students an opportunity to explore funding opportunities, while networking with other students and faculty
- Participantsí¢â‚¬â„¢ abstracts will be published in a commemorative volume in spring 2012
Abstracts should be no longer than 1, single-spaced page and clearly explain the research being undertaken, as well as the significance and contribution of the project. Students may develop individual or collaborative presentations (limited space will be available for laptop-based multi-media or audio presentations). Please send your abstracts to CentennialSymposium2012@umich.edu by Nov. 15th, 2011. Winners will be notified by Dec. 15th, 2011.
