CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Submission Deadline: November 15, 2011

All Rackham graduate students are invited to present their research at the 2012 Centennial Symposiumí¢â‚¬”a unique, multi-disciplinary forum to present current or ongoing research to peers, faculty, funding organizations, and the public.

Posters and presentations should focus on studentsí¢â‚¬â„¢ research and creative ideas that engage critical problems in their field of study, and be accessible to non-specialists from the University community. Abstracts will be selected to represent the breadth and diversity of Michiganí¢â‚¬â„¢s graduate programs and the symposium theme, "Michigan Graduate Students in the World."

All participants will have poster production costs paid for by Rackham. Symposium abstracts will be published in a commemorative volume in spring 2012.

Date: February 16, 2012

Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm

Location: Rackham Graduate School

Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts should be no longer than 1, single-spaced page. Students should clearly explain the research and highlight its significance not only to the relevant academic field(s), but also to a broader audience. Students may submit individual or collaborative poster presentations. All abstracts will be considered for poster presentation, unless other consideration is requested. Limited space will be available for laptop-based multi-media, audio, artwork, and performance presentations.

Please send all abstracts as a Word or PDF file to CentennialSymposium2012@umich.edu

by November 15, 2011. Selected presenters will be notified by December 15, 2011.
