Tamara Reeme Scholarship Description
- Description of award: The Tamara L. Reeme Scholarship Fund is for students whose educational focus aligns with Behavior, Education and Communication or the Environmental Policy and Planning programs. This Scholarship was made possible by a School of Natural Resources and Environment alumna with the goal to assist exceptional students in these fields of study. Award recipients have demonstrated a commitment to course and field work, while exemplifying characteristics needed to address the current environmental issues.
- Tamara Reeme is a 1983 BS alum, who is very interested in reconnecting with SNRE. She established the Scholarship because she had such a wonderful experience at SNRE and is in a position to help students. Tammy truly wanted to be involved in the scholarship selection process.
- There are two scholarships available. Contact Michelle Burdick (burdickm@umich.edu) for the application documents. Application must not exceed one double-sided page, single-spaced 11 point font. All that's required to apply is your resume and one of the application documents (this counts as your essay).
- Graduating students should refer to the Reeme Scholarship for students that are graduating . This scholarship is $2,000 and is open to graduating students only. One recipient will be selected.
- Students that will return to SNRE in the fall should refer to the Reeme Scholarship for students that will be returning in the fall . This scholarship is $10,000. One recipient will be selected.
The Tamara Reeme Scholarship: essays are due at noon on Tuesday, January 15th. Please email a copy of your essay to burdickm@umich.edu (must be a Word document) and drop off a hard copy to OAP (1520 Dana). Scholarship decisions will be made by the end of March.
If you have any questions about the scholarship opportunities, please let me know. All students are welcome to apply, but the donor gives preference to BEC or EPP students. MS, MLA, and PhD students are eligible to apply. Dual degree students are eligible to apply.
