Looking for a paid internship related to the electricity system, green building, or clean transportation? Deadline to apply 1/31/12 by noon.
Rocky Mountain Institute is an independent, entrepreneurial nonprofit think-and-do tank that drives the efficient and restorative use of resourcesí¢â‚¬”currently focused on accelerating the U.S. transition from fossil fuels to efficiency and renewables. Established in 1982, RMI began as a small group of colleagues focusing on energy solutions. It has since grown into a broad-based Institute with approximately 70 full-time staff, an annual budget of $12 million, and a global reach.
We are seeking a full-time intern to fill one of several internship opportunities for 11 weeks. This position will focus on projects relating to the electricity system, green building, or clean transportation. Successful candidates will be assigned projects within the broader initiatives, which include but are not limited to: research and coalition-building that addresses pragmatic designs, practices, and policies, not social theories or laboratory experiments. We work on all parts of the solution processí¢â‚¬”idea, strategy, and implementationí¢â‚¬”in the high impact areas of energy, mobility and vehicle efficiency, energy resource use, security, and the built environment. Interns are expected to learn about all parts of the solution process and actively work on key areas identified by project managers.
Please see go to eRecruiter (www.erecruiter.snre.umich.edu) for qualifications, instructions on how to apply, and for specific details on the internship. Deadline to apply is January 31, 2012 by noon. Interns are paid a stipend of $4,500 for 11 weeks. Housing options are available at the Snowmass location. Students must be returning to SNRE in the fall to be eligible to apply.
