SNRE Career Fair (TUES 1/17): Still Time to Apply for Positions/ Get Prepared for the Fair/ Please Volunteer to Help
Happy New Year! We hope you had a great holiday break. Can you believe the SNRE Career Fair is coming up quickly on TUES 1/17 (1-4pm) in the Commons? This is our biggest employer turnout ever at a SNRE Career Fair. Almost half of the employers coming out the career fair are SNRE Alumni - please show your support and attend the fair!
THREE IMPORTANT CAREER FAIR REMINDERS:
1. PLEASE APPLY FOR POSITIONS BEFORE THE FAIR. See list of participating employers and positions (see google spreadsheet link below) and then find full details on eRecruiter.
Special note: BP just posted a position today on eRecruiter. Aaron Assmann, SNRE MS Alum (aaron.assmann@gmail.com) who is now at BP is willing to exchange emails with information about what to expect from the job and how the hiring process is likely to go. Also, he knows who the BP representatives will be at the fair and knows them personally. He may be able to provide some conversation pieces that could help "break the ice" at the career fair.
Employers are coming to especially recruit SNRE students for various jobs and internships, please plan to apply for all opportunities that interest you.
2. BE PREPARED FOR THE FAIR. Do some research on participating employers to see if they may be of interest to you. Many of the employer representatives are SNRE alums so please be sure to stop by and chat with employers, they are eager to meet and chat with you. Even if a particular position may not be a strong fit for you, talking with employer representatives at the fair can help get you connected to the right person or to learn more about the organization in general.
3. VOLUNTEER TO HELP out at the Career Fair on TUES 1/17 from 11am-1pm with set up or 4-5pm to help tear down. Just show up anytime during these times in the Commons and find Lisa or Kim.
