22nd Annual SCOR Conference

Do Something: Think. Share. Act.

March 16 & 17, 2012

Rackham Graduate School, 915 E. Washington Street, Ann Arbor, MI

 

Join us for the 22nd Annual SCOR Conference; this yearí¢â‚¬â„¢s conference theme is, Do Something: Think. Share. Act.  Our goal is to help graduate students develop their í¢â‚¬Å“inner activistsí¢â‚¬  by challenging them to consider the implications of their work for solving critical issues in their respective fields.  Day One of the conference will feature dinner followed by a panel discussion entitled Model Minorities No More!: Race, Diversity, and the Politics of Being in Higher Education.  Day Two of the conference will feature a continental breakfast, student presentations, professional development workshops, lunch followed by a keynote address entitled Immigrant Youth and the New Civil Rights Movement by Kent Wong (Director, UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education), and group discussions on the intersections of race and other social identities including gender, sexuality, and ability.  The Conference will be held at Rackham Graduate School on Friday, March 16 (6:00-8:30pm) and Saturday, March 17 (8:30amí¢â‚¬“3:30pm).  To register for the conference, please visit: https://secure.rackham.umich.edu/Events/scor_confreg.php
